SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- The National Association of Government Web Professionals (NAGW) recently announced its 2016 Pinnacle Award winners, which recognize excellence in government websites.
“The entrants do extraordinary work with limited budgets and resources,” said NAGW President Leslie Labrecque.
Entrants include the first-place Pinnacle Award city of Roswell, Ga., which took first place in the Medium Population Group (population range: 50,001 to 150,000 residents), for RoswellGov.com. The site, developed by Vision Internet, launched in September 2015. New features at RoswellGov.com include improved search capabilities, advanced user navigation and an updated, contemporary design.
The Pinnacles Awards are judged by web professionals and are awarded based on team size, content, organization, design, performance and flexibility, accessibility standards and interactivity. NAGW members also vote for Members’ Choice Awards.
Aesthetically, we wanted our site to look beautiful while functionally, the navigation had to make it easy for people to find what they’re looking for,” said Julie Brechbill, community relations manager for the city of Roswell.
Brechbill said in a prepared statement that one of the most valued new features is the site’s search function: “How can we help you today?” The center-page feature allows Roswell citizens to find what they are looking for, without having to know which are the managing city departments for their tasks. The site also features drop down navigation menus and user-friendly icons atop photos of the city.
