25 golden Trump toilets launch guerrilla art group

The golden Trump toilets are just the beginning for the Artfinksters, a guerrilla art group

On President Donald Trump’s 100th day in office, golden toilets that read “Take a Trump” were plopped down in cities like Muncie, Ind., Austin, Texas, Portland, Ore., Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Denver, according to the Indianapolis Star.

The work of a group called the Artfinksters has posted on their website that the 25 golden Trump toilets are only their debut.

After speaking with the unnamed Indiana artist claiming the group’s founding, the Star reported that about 100 artists are participating in the guerrilla art campaign.

“It’s not our plan to deface anything. We won’t ever do that, that’s not in our agenda,” said the Artfinksters founder, who also noted that they expected city governments to remove the installations.

The Indianapolis Department of Public Works removed their golden Trump toilets first thing Monday morning because they posed safety risks, said Andre’ Denman, DPW principal park and greenways manager.

Over the weekend, scores of people posed with the golden Trump toilets and posted to social media.
