Federal Funding Targets Public Housing Initiative

The money will help the agencies provide education and job-training programs for people living in public housing

Nearly $400,000 in federal funds have been allocated to five municipalities and agencies in Western New York through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Family Self Sufficiency program, Sens. Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced. The money will help the agencies provide education and job-training programs for people living in public housing.

Receiving the funding are Rental Assistance Corp. of buffalo, $98,967; Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority, $34,500; North Tonawanda Belmont Housing Resources, $48,583; Lockport Housing Authority, $68,000; and Town of Amherst Belmont Housing Resources, $147,097.
