City of San Diego
The city of San Diego has selected the Accela Civic Platform to update and streamline the City’s business processes, better manage land, permitting and code enforcement cases, and increase citizen engagement. In a typical year, the City of San Diego issues 46,000 permits, processes 4,000 code enforcement cases, conducts 97,000 project reviews and handles 137,000 construction inspections. As part of this $11 million tech initiative, Accela will work closely with the City to implement the Accela Land Management, Citizen Access, Accela Mobile and GIS solutions on the Civic Platform, enabling agency efficiency and providing citizens access to online information and services through mobile devices.
“The City of San Diego needed a seamless regulatory experience across departments for residents and business owners,” said Maury Blackman, Accela President and CEO. “The Accela Civic Platform for Land Management allows the City to deliver access to improved services and information a higher level of customer service and engagement.”
The Accela Civic Platform automates critical tasks associated with City functions for Land Management and Code Enforcement. Already an Accela customer for special Event Permitting and Right of Way Management, the City is expanding its use of the Civic Platform to maximize efficiencies and the seamless integration of platform solutions. Through an open architecture and a centralized database, the Civic Platform shares event, transaction and contact activity to be shared across departments-improving communication between office and field workers, citizens, businesses and other key stakeholders.
The City will implement the Accela Civic Platform to streamline the City’s planning and zoning, as well as permitting services, and offer enhanced customer service while providing contractors, building inspectors and code enforcement officers with access to mobile solutions that speed processes and response time.
