BRISTOL, Va. — The Bristol Public Library is preparing to beef up its computer offerings, thanks to a $15,000 Tennessee technology grant.

Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett and state Rep. Jon Lundberg, R-Bristol, presented the ceremonial check to library board Chairwoman Margaret Feierabend and Executive Director Ami Kimani Friday morning. Hargett planned to make similar stops at the Sullivan County Library in Blountville and the Kingsport Library.

“This is one of the higher grant amounts. I can’t think of one that is getting more than Bristol,” Hargett said. That’s probably as a result of how much the local governments are putting into it.”

The Sullivan County and Kingsport libraries received grants of about $3,500 apiece.
