Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-The Fargo Police Department hopes a grant from the Federal Government will help them crack down on crime. It’s getting more than $57,000.
Chief David Todd says this money will fund overtime - paying for programs beyond regular policing that might otherwise be harder to do.
Conditions of the grant say the money must be used for proactive crime prevention and crash reduction programs.
Todd says he plans on using it to focus more attention on problem areas in the community, including crime and traffic issues, and to hold things like neighborhood meetings.
