Municipalities can partner with schools or school districts and apply for matching grants on outdoor fitness equipment purchases through the Greenfields School Incentive Program.
The mission of Greenfields Outdoor Fitness is to target obesity reduction through community wellness. Applicants for new fitness installations submitted by multiple organizations will be given higher priority in order to maximize the potential use of each grant-funded project.
The company will award 50 percent matching funds for equipment purchases ranging between $20,000 and $100,000. Applications are due by December 31st.
Grant awards will be announced by January 31, 2017, and equipment orders must be confirmed by March 31, 2017. Delivery, however, can be scheduled after winter.
Matching grants do not apply to installation, shipping or surfacing costs, or applicable taxes. Awards cannot be combined with other discounts, sales or offers, and some exclusions do apply.
Greenfields Outdoor Fitness provides all-ages fitness equipment for all fitness levels to parks, schools, senior centers, colleges and universities and the U.S. military, including wheelchair accessible units.
