Federal Grant Improves Accessibility to Jobs, Education Data

With the new grant, the center hopes to present information on education and careers in a more user-friendly format and on an annual basis

A new three-year $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor will expand efforts of state agencies to provide detailed information about the impact of education, from pre-kindergarten through doctoral programs, on employment and income for Arkansans.

The grant was awarded to the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services.

Most of the grant will pay for the Arkansas Research Center, housed at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, to expand and improve on work completed under a prior Workforce Data Quality Initiative grant of $928,796 awarded in 2012, Arkansas Department of Workforce Services spokesman Lauren Goins said.
