California used in-house resources to design its state of the art new state website.
According to the California Department of Technology (CDT) blog, the new site, www.CA.gov, focuses on the top 50 online services the state offers. The site is smart--detecting a user’s location using geospatial technology. So, users have a customized experience that surfaces relevant service locations and local images.
Find a state park, register to vote, take action on climate change, apply for a birth certificate or search your needs by state agency.
CDT and Government Operations Agency (GovOps) developed the site.
“With more than 200 state departments, boards and commissions, it can be challenging for Californians to know where to go to find relevant government information, said GovOps Secretary Marybel Batjer. “The redesigned portal gives everyone access to the information they want, when they want it.”
