SAN BERNARDINO, CALIF. -- Big changes could be in store in the way city government works in San Bernardino.
The City Council may get authority to appoint the city clerk and city attorney, instead of the public electing them. The mayor may be able to vote like fellow council members , but one city ward could be eliminated to make that happen.
These are all changes that a committee of residents is contemplating to fix rules that have been described as creating a process in which “Everyone is in charge, so no one is in charge.”
