WICHITA, Kan. --- City of Wichita officials unveiled a new machine they say will fill potholes more efficiently.
The machine costs $174,000 but it will cut repair costs in the long run. This is the city’s the first step toward transitioning from a temporary pothole patching method to one that’s semi-permanent.
“It will certainly improve the necessity to go back and repair the same pothole multiple times, like we find ourselves doing today. And so that’s a big part of that savings,” said Wichita Mayor Jeff Longwell.
Mayor Longwell says the city repairs 50,000 potholes annually.
