Patients making psychiatric visits didn’t see why they needed medical screenings at first, but soon they came to appreciate Long Beach Mental Health Care Clinic’s enhanced system of holistic care.
Los Angeles County integrated basic screenings like checking blood pressure, along with substance abuse and mental health services, into clients’ treatment plans.
Now patient obesity and diabetes information is regularly monitored, psychiatric hospitalization has “dramatically” declined and the county is saving money.
