A federal judge on Wednesday ruled that an Indiana county is required to establish at least two early voting locations ahead of the November midterm elections.
U.S. District Judge Sarah Evans Barker ruled in favor of watchdog group Common Cause and the NAACP in a lawsuit filed in 2017 that alleged Marion County, Indiana, did not provide equal ballot access when it limited early voting options.
Officials previously only set up one early voting location in the entire county, which the plaintiffs argued violated voting rights, especially for minority voters.
