Texas Workforce Commission gave more than $500,000 to fund job training for over 200 workers in the Workforce Solutions Panhandle area, according to a TWC news release.
Northwest Texas Healthcare System and Baptist St. Anthony’s Health System partnered with Amarillo College to provide job training for 246 workers with the grant.
The grant will fund training focusing on critical care, cardiac life, trauma care, surgical and neonatal intensive care nursing training. The training will be conducted in a simulated hospital environment in order to increase the skill and competency of hospital staff in specialty areas.
