SAGINAW, MI — Saginaw city leaders on Monday, June 8, approved a cooperative agreement with Saginaw County for a $83,580 federal crime-fighting grant.
The 2015 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant, known commonly by the acronym of “JAG,” will be split evenly between city and county law enforcement agencies. Splitting the annual grant 50/50 between the two is a long-standing tradition in Saginaw.
That split means the Saginaw Police Department and Saginaw County Sheriff’s office will each receive $41,790 to spend on law enforcement programs.
