Midland has received a $7,000 grant to look at alternative sites for the flourishing Farmers Market as part of PlacePlans, a community-input based program.
The Michigan Municipal League, a nonprofit association of municipalities and municipal leaders across the state, announced that five communities would receive grants averaging $10,000 to implement initiatives each city researched in previous years.
The $7,000 grant awarded to Midland will be matched by the city, according to Matt Bach, director of media relations for the League.
