The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) released the name of seven projects sharing a $1.2 million Land and Recreation Grant.

Hunters Spring land acquisition project was one of the recipients, receiving $175,000 in a 50/50 matching grant.

City council approved a motion on Feb. 9 to apply for the department’s Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant.

According to the city’s conceptual design, the money would be put toward the purchase of a 0.43-acre property north of the park and south of Northeast Second Street.
