CHARLES TOWN - Step into the Boys and Girls Club computer lab, and be prepared to see the future.

While youngsters already use computers to play educational games and do homework, a new initiative - My.Future -is being implemented to make technology even more fun and engaging for club participants.

Comcast also believes in the project, and has donated $15,000 - money that will go a long way toward purchasing some additional computers and tablets, said Stacie Rohn, executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle.

“The My.Future is a tech program that the national organization started in the last couple of years, and this initiative is to get our children to do more than just play games with computers. We already do a lot of education, but we also want to give them skills that will have practical applications - and part of that will even include coding,” Rohn said.
