PORTLAND, Ore. -- Hundreds of Portlanders enjoyed Community Play Day at an extra special playground in North Portland Saturday.
“Harper’s Playground” in Arbor Lodge was created to cater to kids and adults of all abilities.
Cody Goldberg and his wife came up with the idea when they realized their neighborhood park didn’t work for their daughter Harper, who has disabilities.
Portland’s first all-inclusive playground, which opened in 2012, is a fun place for many kids like Harper.
Several hundred people celebrated the Community Play Day, along with representatives from a local non-profit called SEM-pdx, who presented a $1,000 grant.
