The city of Fayetteville signed a 13-month contract with Lamar Advertising to display eight-second ads on 13 digital billboards across the city.
The company offered the city a steep discount that will cost $1,300 over the contract’s term, said Kevin Arata, director of the city’s Corporate Communications Department.
“You have got thousands and thousands of people going down the roads, so it just seemed like a great opportunity to promote our services,” Arata said.
The ads will promote the voluntary house party registration initiative, the new red-light cameras and parks and recreation programs, among other ideas. The city soon will debut a retooled website, which also will be advertised on the billboards.
